Single-handed GP in Nottingham

This practice was located on the estates of North West Nottingham.

1985-1986:

Partner in a two handed practice in Peterborough.

1982-1985:

Hull Vocational Training Scheme:

This consisted of two 6-month spells in General Practice. The first of these was on the Marfleet estate to the East of Hull in a three handed practice. My trainer was Dr Sanders.

The second was in Dr Phillips' practice in North Hull.

I completed  9-months of Paediatrics at Hull Royal Infirmary & Hedon Road Maternity Hospital. My consultant was Dr Lewin

3-Months of Psychiatry at De La Pole & Broadgates Hospitals. My consultant was Dr Crumpton

6-months of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Princess Royal & Hedon Road Maternity Hospitals. My consultant was Mr Alan Palmer.

6-months of Accident & Emergency at Hull Royal Infirmary. This is one of the ten busiest A&E departments in the UK. My consultant was Dr John Gosnold.

1981-1982

Pre-registration House Jobs:

6-months General Surgery with Mr Whittaker at Darlington Memorial Hospital.

6-months General Medicine with Dr Newton at St.Luke's Hospital Bradford.

1975-1980:

Middlesex Hospital Medical School.

Non-Clinical Experience

1990-2003:

Member of Nottingham Commissioning Group: My main areas of interest were Out Of Hours & Mental Health. I was involved in the provision of a Primary Care Mental Health Service across Nottingham.

1996-Present:

Out Of Hours Clinical Governance.

This post was originally under the auspices of Nottingham Health Authority and involved monitoring the performance of the local HealthCall service. It later developed into a facilatating role for Local GP Cooperatives and the awarding of the post Opt Out contract for OOH services across Nottingham. Currently I am Clinical Governance Lead for Nottingham Emergency Medical Services.
